Job Summary : These positions are responsible for responding to fire/medical emergency and non-emergency calls for protection of life and property and to control/extinguish fires, performing search and rescue, and providing advances life support to sick/injured persons.

HEAVY EQUIPMENT OPERATOR

Job Summary: This position requires skill in the operation of heavy equipment machines. The employee is responsible for the safe and efficient operation with the ability to work to finish with accuracy. Work is performed in accordance with the instructions received from a Foreman and the employee is expected to carry out the assignments, free of direct supervision, except for more complicated jobs. The employee is expected to perform minor servicing and maintenance on the equipment and to refer more serious problems to the supervisor at the first sign of a problem.

PUBLIC WORKS - LABORER

Job Summary: This is an entry job or temporary position for new hires joining the County work force. Workers in the labor pool are assigned to operating and service departments to assist with extra work load, cover absences and vacations, and supplement crews required to meet unusual changes in the elements such as heat, cold, rain, etc.
