Meriwether Sheriff Chuck Smith honored for assistance to Georgia Sheriff's Youth Home

Meriwether County Sheriff Chuck Smith recently received the GSA $100,000 Contribution Award and Top Fifteen Club 2016/2017 in the State. The award was presented by Georgia Sheriff Youth Home Property Management/Development Director Shayne Goddard during a GSYH Board of Trustees meeting held at the Pineland/Camp Pioneer Campus in LaGrange on August 22. Citizens of and on behalf of Meriwether County contributed financially to the Georgia Sheriff's Youth Home which placed our county the second highest contributor per capita out of 159 counties in the state. "I graciously accept this award on behalf of all Meriwether County Citizens whose generous giving helps support our efforts to provide a wholesome, caring and loving environment to resident children in youth homes across this state. It was also great to have Retired Meriwether County Sheriff Dan Branch in attendance," Sheriff Chuck Smith said.
