Peaches in the Pines Festival returning to Lake Meriwether
Meriwether County’s 4th annual Peaches in the Pines festival will be returning to beautiful Lake Meriwether in Woodbury, GA June 9, 2018, with food, fun and entertainment, along with the 2nd annual Meriwether Miles bike ride through the area’s picturesque rural countryside.
Live music will feature The Breakdowns, a Tom Petty tribute band. Visitors will be able to shop for a variety of arts and crafts from vendors and there will be children’s activities, sight-seeing helicopter rides, delicious festival food and Georgia grown produce as part of the 2018 Peaches in the Pines lineup. Fitzgerald Farms will be back with fresh Georgia Peaches and peach ice cream.
Vendor registration is currently underway via the Meriwether County Chamber of Commerce, said Chamber President Carolyn McKinley. Vendors are invited to apply for booth space no later than May 1. The 2018 Meriwether Miles bike ride offers three courses with a variety of terrain in 10-mile, 44-mile and 64-mile options. The CENTURY route includes an almost-12-mile coast back toward Warm Springs and on into the Lake Meriwether area. Again this year “Honoring Our Veterans” will receive a portion of the Meriwether Miles event proceeds.

‘Best of the Rest’ rest stops including homemade treats and our memorable Meriwether County hospitality,” said Meriwether Miles ride organizer Gail Coffee. Public Safety traffic control will help at busy intersections, plus three SAG vehicles with short wave radio contact will be on the routes.
Event-day registration is 7 to 9 a.m. adjacent to the Peaches in the Pines Festival site at Lake Meriwether, 728 Lake Meriwether Road, Woodbury, GA 30293. There will be a mass start for the ride at 9 a.m.
Riders registered by May 19 will receive a colorful, quality short-sleeved T-shirt with the 2018 logo. All riders will be treated to energizing snacks, drinks and water. To receive a T-shirt, the $30 entry fee and application indicating name, age, address, phone, email address, the requested route and T-shirt size must be postmarked by May 19.
